Plan With Me | Week of Mar 15-21

This week marks the beginning of an entirely new family schedule for us as we close out a seven-year chapter of life as a second-shift household. At first, I felt completely frozen at the thought of all the rituals and routines I’ve carefully built over the years — the ones that help me do what I do and stay even remotely stable and regulated (hah!) — disappearing overnight.

After all, the story we’re often told is that when the boat gets rocked, moms are simply supposed to absorb the impact and keep everyone else afloat.

But my nervous system won’t tolerate that anymore....

Plan With Me is a series where I share a peek at how I organize my week as an illustrator, blogger, and small business owner. It’s part planning session, part creative diary, and part gentle accountability.

Each week, I sit down with my planner and map out what’s ahead — creative work, blog posts, and the routines of everyday life.

If you like this kind of cozy behind-the-scenes routine, you can browse all the entries in the Plan With Me archive here.

This Week’s Plan:

So — instead of letting everything collapse and trying to rebuild later from a place of burnout, I decided to do something different. This week, I sat down with my planners and started mapping out what this new chapter could actually look like. Not just for the household, but for me too.

What are my daily non-negotiables? What rhythms do still work? What needs to shift? What deserves protection?

This week’s plan is less about squeezing productivity into every available minute and more about designing a routine that lets our family move into this new season without losing the things that keep me grounded.

It’s likely gonna take some getting used to, but it’s a start… 😉

Last Week’s List:

✨Here’s how last week went: the good, the messy, the mess ups and everything in between…

For being sick all week, I have to say I’m chuffed at how much I did actually manage to get done! Admittedly, it was a lot of digital work from my couch, but I did finally get some energy at the end of the week to work on our spring heART journal. 🩷

(Couldn’t muster the energy for those taxes tho…😅)
