Plan With Me | Week of Mar 15 - 21

I hope y’all had a nice weekend! We had such a sweet Spring Break, but honestly… I am so ready for a reset.

By Friday, I hit that point where I had nothing left to give creatively—and I’ve learned the hard way that when that happens, pushing through just makes the art block worse.

So instead of forcing it, I’m doing things a little differently.

We kept this weekend really slow—resting, puttering around, just letting my brain breathe—and before I even sit down at my desk this week, I’m taking myself on an artist date. Something fun, no pressure, no productivity.

Because for me, that’s the reset.

Not pushing harder… but noticing the burnout, softening the plan, and giving myself space to come back to it.

Then we’ll map out the week in a way that actually works this time. 🤍

Plan With Me is a series where I share a peek at how I organize my week as an illustrator, blogger, and small business owner. It’s part planning session, part creative diary, and part gentle accountability.

Each week, I sit down with my planner and map out what’s ahead — creative work, blog posts, and the routines of everyday life.

If you like this kind of cozy behind-the-scenes routine, you can browse all the entries in the Plan With Me archive here.

This Week’s Plan:

Alright, so before I even think about being productive, I like to do a really gentle reset.

First thing is just a brain dump—nothing fancy. I’m writing down everything that’s been sitting in my head, especially the stuff that’s been quietly stressing me out.

Then I go through and ask myself… what actually needs to happen this week?

Not the ideal version. Not the overachiever list. Just the essentials.

From there, I’m choosing a very small handful of priorities [like 3 to 5 things max] because anything more than that right now is just not realistic…

And — this is the part I used to skip — I’m planning around my energy, not against it.

I’m keeping things lighter, and I’m not filling every box just to feel ON TOP OF THINGS.

I’ll usually pick one day for my artist date, one or two focused work blocks, and then let the rest be flexible.

Because the goal this week isn’t to do the most…

…it’s to feel like me again and come back to my creative practice with fresh eyes and actually enjoy making art again.
